MES Third Grade Ambassadors Present to BOE MES Ambassadors

The leadership from Moundridge Elementary School looked a little different at the board of education meeting this month.  Members of the first group of Third Grade Ambassadors presented the MES update to the USD 423 board of education at the November meeting.  

Debaters Achieve Success at State Debaters See Success at State

The Moundridge High School debaters participated in the 2A speech and drama championship on May 1. They had three juniors who went to the state championship: Becca Schlosser, Chris Houk, and Matthew Morrison.  At state they placed 12th out of 27 teams. Schlosser brought home 3rd in impromptu speaking and 4th place in extemporaneous speaking.

The End of an Era Fasts' to Retire

The end of the year is coming and some of our teachers are not coming back for the next school year. Mrs. Tammy Fast, middle/high school counselor, has decided to retire this year. Over the course of Fast’s years here she has been an elementary music teacher, middle/ high school music teacher, middle/ high school counselor, K12 counselor, and then back to middle/high school counselor. So overall she has worked at Moundridge for 38 years.

Wildcat Track Teams Race to the Finish State Track

The Wildcat Junior High and Senior High Track Teams had a banner season setting numerous records and returning from the 2A KSHSAA State Track Meet with hardware.

Rierson Takes the Reigns at USD 423 Apple On Books

MOUNDRIDGE — The USD 423 Board of Education has announced the selection of Cody Rierson as the new superintendent. Rierson will take the reins on July 1, 2021 after the retirement of George Leary at the end of the 2020-21 school year.
