The library had a special day for the grandparents on Tuesday, February 19. The grandparents arrived at 3:30 to pick their grandchild up and off to the cafeteria they went to enjoy punch and cookies! On their way to the book fair, they peeked into their grandchild's classroom and were lucky to get to meet the teacher. Arriving at the book fair they were amazed at all the books and even commented on what a nice library our school had.  We were overwhelmed with the attendance!  There were around 40-50 grandparents/grandchildren in attendance and the biggest joy was to see the excitement on the kids face to be with their grandparents. This was so successful that we plan on this to be an annual event each year at the book fair.  Thank you to all the grandparents who were able to come and enjoy the book fair with their special kiddos!

Due to the weather forecast for tomorrow, spring parent-teacher conferences have been cancelled for Thursday.  The event will not be rescheduled but parents are encouraged to communicate with the school offices and/or teachers if a meeting is desired at any time.  Our staff will make every effort to facilitate these kinds of positive interactions either through face-to-face meetings, phone calls, or email conversations.  We apologize for this inconvenience but we are grateful for the precipitation.

The Moundidge Lion Club will be hosting a meal to raise funds for new school weight room equipment.  All proceeds will be donated to USD 423 for the weight room project.

Moundridge Elementary School will be hosting a Book Fair beginning on Monday, February 18 through Thursday, February 21. The hours for the book fair are Monday - Wednesday 8:00 - 4:00 and Thursday 8:00 - 8:00. On Tuesday the 19th, we will be having Grandparents Day from 3:30 - 4:30. Grandparents can pick up their grandchild from school and go to the cafeteria for refreshments. After that, they can see their grandchild's classroom and then come to the book fair.  Ms. Anne thinks this will be a great Book Fair.

During the month of February parents and community members are encouraged to bring in as many Box Tops as possible! Moundridge Middle School is trying to win a contest for the most improved school over last year-- and we need your help! Because we had a really slow Box Top year at the middle school last year, we actually have a pretty good chance of winning-- and the prize is $25,000! The deadline for this contest is March 1, so please bring in your Box Tops to be counted and postmarked by then! Thank you!

KSU graduate and defensive lineman, Adam Davis, stopped by to visit our students this week.  Adam spent some time on Thursday serving lunch and eating with kids at Moundridge Elementary School.  On Friday, Adam helped serve cookies at the Middle School awards ceremony.  Adam was gracious and spent time signing autographs for all of the students wanting one.  The students were thrilled to meet a 'celebrity' and some of our KSU diehard staff members were equally excited.  Thanks Adam!
